Where: GPAA Two Quartz Claim in Barstow
Time: We’ll be leaving the meeting location (listed below)
at 8am to drive to the claim, please arrive
prior to if you plan on following the group.
Who: GPAA Members or Guests of GPAA Members
All ages & experience levels welcome to join
** Meet at corner of Irwin & Copper City Rd **
* Bring your own equipment, food & drinks for the day.
** 4-Wheel drive is not required, however a high
clearance vehicle is highly recommended.
This outing is weather, wind AND dirt conditions permitting. Temperatures over
90 degrees, rain, high winds or wet dirt conditions will prevent this outing from
If this outing is cancelled due to any of the above conditions, the outing will be
changed to a sluicing and gold panning at the San Gabriel River. We will post
updates as time gets closer and we are able to determine the conditions.
It was nice to get back up there after the fires have ceased and the roads have opened back up for us to enjoy the river. We had about 20 participants at our outing this last week, some first timers joined us as well. It’s always fun to help out a newbie prospector as they find their way with the hobby that so many of us enjoy. Here are some photos to enjoy of our last trip…..
